2024 One Armed Scissor Chardonnay

Clean and pronounced aromas of preserved lemon and white peach with hints of nougat and flint. There are complexing notes of toast, cashews and fennel from time spent in barrel.
This Chardonnay has a medium bodied palate that has elegance and texture, imparted through lees contact during time spent in barrel. There is a nice interplay between the acid spine, cheese rind and citrus flavours followed by a lingering saline finish.

The 2025 vintage saw a return to mid February harvesting after a scorching early harvest in 2024. The Burnside Chardonnay is a selection of exceptional barrels, with the wine showing vibrant, toasty funk on the nose, progressing into a detailed palate of grapefruit, cashew paste and flint. There are complexing notes of toast and fennel cream from time spent in barrel.
This wine shows the classic line and mineral edge displayed by the Ellens Ridge vineyard.

The 2025 Battles Pinot Noir is our first release of this wine.
From the Shepherd’s Hut Vineyard in th Porongurup sub region in the Great Southern.
The Granitic soils provide a savoury structure to the wine along with classic cherry and forest floor notes with a complimentary French oak component. This wine will improve in the bottle for the next five years plus.
Pretty, lifted aromatics of blackberry and red cherry fruit. The 2025 Battles Tempranillo palate is medium bodied with a deep core of red fruits and savoury tannin structure. This helps the wine draw long, with some gentle spice and earthy notes on the finish.

From the Barreca vineyard in Donnybrook Western Australia. The 2024 vintage was challenging and hot. Cool wet winter followed by a warm, dry spring and a hot summer. The wine is ripe, but was picked with freshness remaining in the grapes, giving perfumed aromatics. The palate is slick and juicy with blackberry notes and hints of spice and cedar from its time in French oak. Enjoy now and up to 7-10 years.

The 2025 Battles Cabernet Sauvignon is our first release of this wine.
Coming from the Ellens Ridge Vineyard in Wilyabrup. The 2025 season was a warm season with excellent winter and spring rain, which helped the fruit long ripening time.
It shows classic cassis and bay leaf notes, with savoury French oak notes. It is a vibrant style of Cabernet that allows for early drinking or cellar maturation.
Clean and vibrant, lifted aromatics are one of the hallmarks of this Shiraz. Pretty florals of purple flowers and violets are underpinned by blackberry and red cherry fruit. The 2024 Battles Shiraz palate is full bodied with a deep core of dark fruits and a persistent tannin structure, which helps the wine draw long, with some gentle spice and savoury notes on the finish.

The 2024 vintage was warm and dry, giving ripe fruit characters of liquorice, spice, charcuterie and plum skin, with a ripe tannin profile. Further complexity is found from maturation in French oak puncheons. This wine can be enjoyed immediately or cellared for over a decade.

The 2024 vintage was warm and dry, giving ripe fruit characters of dried herbs, spice, charcuterie and blood plum, with a ripe tannin profile. A five percent Viognier whole bunch component provides a perfume lift and savoury note to the palate. This is the third release of this wine, which has a great customer following.
Granítis (grani’ths) is the Greek word for Granite and this unique bedrock is present throughout the vineyard. The resulting wine is a true reflection of the soil in which it’s grown.

Grown from cane pruned vines in the Powderbark vineyard. This wine showed from the beginning that it was special. Low yields provide concentration and depth, with blackberry, spice and quality French oak accents. There were only 46 cases made of this wine, so snap it up while you can.
